Subaru Seasonal Installation

Beirut, Lebanon

This seasonal light installation translates Subaru’s identity into a clear spatial composition within a fast-moving and visually saturated urban environment.

Designed for the Christmas period, the challenge was to establish a recognisable presence without relying on conventional festive imagery or competing with surrounding traffic, signage, and illumination. The response was an abstract, restrained intervention that could remain legible both in motion and at rest.

The installation is organised as a single constellation. Luminous vertical elements are arranged to reflect the stars of the Subaru logo, set within a field of blue, cloud-like forms that reference the Pleiades constellation—the origin of the Subaru name and its meaning of unity in Japanese. Light and structure are treated as one system, allowing the composition to read clearly across distance and speed.

Material reuse formed a key part of the project. A large quantity of metal mesh previously used in an earlier installation for Subaru was repurposed, reinforcing continuity across brand events while reducing material waste.

Set against the continuous flow of the city, the installation maintains clarity through contrast and restraint. The result is a contemporary seasonal statement that communicates Subaru’s identity through spatial presence rather than decoration—precise, recognisable, and unmistakably Subaru.
