Services

We are an architectural design studio based in Bristol, working across Bath, the South West, and the wider UK, with selected international projects.

Our services focus on projects where design decisions carry consequence — where context is sensitive, expectations are high, and clarity matters. We work across architecture, interior design, and spatial works, supporting private clients, businesses, communities, and institutions from early concept through to planning submission.

What We Do

We offer architectural services that balance design quality with planning strategy and practical delivery. Our services include:

  • Architectural design from concept to planning
  • Planning applications and planning strategy
  • House and home extensions
  • Loft conversions
  • Refurbishment and change-of-use projects
  • Community, religious, and civic buildings
  • Contextual and heritage-sensitive design

Many of our projects involve tight sites, listed buildings, neighboring constraints, or demanding planning policies. We specialize in working within these realities—developing proposals that are clear, considered, and robust.

Our Working Approach

Across all services, we work selectively and deliberately. We take time to understand the site, the brief, and the planning context before drawing conclusions. We listen carefully, ask the right questions, and design with intention — producing spaces that are resilient, meaningful, and grounded in their social and physical context.

We work across architecture, interior design, and spatial design, supporting private clients, businesses, communities, and institutions. While each brief demands a different response, our approach remains consistent: grounded in experience, critical judgement, and a clear understanding of place.

Rather than applying a fixed style, we respond to each project individually—balancing spatial quality, planning judgement, and long-term usability. Our aim is to produce architecture that is resilient, meaningful, and grounded in its context.

From First Idea to Planning Approval

Clients often contact us unsure where to begin. We regularly advise on feasibility, constraints, and next steps before work formally starts. Whether you are considering a loft conversion, a house extension, or a more complex planning proposal, we aim to bring clarity early and guide the process with confidence.

We provide architectural design services from initial feasibility and concept design through to planning applications, with a strong focus on projects shaped by sensitive contexts and complex constraints.

Our work frequently involves:

  • Heritage and conservation settings
  • Urban and tightly constrained sites
  • Culturally specific and community-led projects
  • Residential architecture, including private homes and small housing schemes
  • Commercial and civic buildings

Beyond Planning & Project Delivery

While our core services focus on concept design and planning, we can remain involved beyond planning approval where continued design input adds value to the project.

Depending on the brief, scale, and character of the work, this may include:

  • Design development following planning consent
  • Preparation or coordination of tender information
  • Liaison with consultants, including structural engineers and specialist trades
  • Selective involvement during construction, including site visits and design clarification

We do not typically undertake Building Regulations drawings in-house. Where required, we can recommend and coordinate trusted external consultants, ensuring design intent is carried through accurately and efficiently.

Our level of post-planning involvement is project-specific. For projects with a strong architectural agenda, bespoke details, or custom elements, we often remain closely involved through construction. For more straightforward schemes, we may step back after planning and support clients by connecting them with appropriate contractors or specialists.

This flexible approach allows us to maintain focus on design quality, while offering clients clarity and continuity where it matters most.

Our interior architecture work focuses on how space is lived in, not simply how it looks. We design interiors that support everyday use, movement, and atmosphere—shaping how people experience a space over time.

We work on restaurant interiors, workplace environments, retail spaces, and private homes, approaching each project as a carefully choreographed spatial sequence. Light, material, geometry, and circulation are treated as active design tools, shaping comfort, behavior, and identity rather than surface appearance alone.

Our interior design services are often delivered alongside architectural and planning work, allowing decisions about layout, structure, and materiality to be resolved holistically. This approach is particularly valuable in projects where planning constraints, heritage context, or long-term flexibility are key considerations.

Where appropriate, our interior projects include the design of custom fitted furniture and joinery, developed as integral elements of the spatial concept. We produce detailed drawings for bespoke items and can work directly with carpenters or specialist joinery companies to ensure precision, material quality, and continuity of design intent.

We have a focused interest and growing expertise in the design of mosques and Islamic community centres within contemporary urban and social contexts.

These projects require a careful balance between religious function, cultural identity, civic presence, and planning sensitivity. Our work in this area is informed by an understanding of Islamic spatial traditions, community needs, and the realities of delivering faith-based architecture within the UK planning system.

We support projects ranging from:

  • New mosque buildings
  • Conversions and extensions of existing structures
  • Multi-use Islamic community centres

Our approach prioritises clarity of use, dignity of space, and long-term adaptability — creating environments that serve both worship and wider community life, while engaging positively with their surrounding context.

We design temporary architecture, exhibitions, and spatial installations, including seasonal displays, pop-up structures, event environments, and marketing pavilions, conceived as temporary architectures with lasting impact.

These projects translate identity, narrative, and cultural meaning into spatial form, combining structure, light, material experimentation, and scenographic design to create immersive and memorable public experiences.

Our work in this area includes brand environments, experiential installations, exhibition stands, and public realm installations, developed for cultural, community, and commercial contexts. Past clients are international automotive brands and residential developers, including Subaru, a BAIC dealer, and private luxury high-rise residential developers.

We support clients, communities, and institutions at early and uncertain stages, where direction has not yet solidified and the cost of poor decisions is high.

This work includes:

  • Early feasibility studies
  • Spatial and cultural research
  • Concept development and briefing
  • Strategic design advice prior to planning or funding stages

This work is grounded in cultural, spatial, and phenomenological inquiry, helping establish clarity and intent before significant financial, political, or social resources are committed.
